Ofttimes a single mighty blow is worth a dozen lesser strikes. Unlike fighters who are trained to brawl and thieves trained to ambush their prey, a Paladin is taught to observe the ebb and flow of the tides of battle even amidst the most heated exchange. This ability allows a Paladin to predict an opponent's tactics and strategies then strike to the utmost advantage, slipping past wild blows and hasty defenses to deliver a single, definitive strike. Specialists in the field of discernment are notoriously skilled in this respect, quickly moving into cripple or kill an opponent with the astonishing efficiency even while engaging another foe entirely.

Spellcasters distracted by the complexities of their magic are notoriously easy to catch unawares.
